FREQUENTLY ASKED QUSTIONS
What is the SF-14 shell made of?
The protective shell is made from HDPE, a durable thermoplastic commonly used for industrial hard hats.
Is the carbon-fiber pattern made from genuine carbon fiber?
No. It is a carbon-fiber-look water-transfer print applied over the HDPE shell and protected with a clear surface coating. It provides a premium appearance but does not change the shell into genuine carbon fiber.
What protection rating does the SF-14 provide?
The tested SF-14 configuration meets ANSI/ISEA Z89.1-2014 (R2019) Type I Class C requirements for overhead-impact protection.
Does the SF-14 provide electrical insulation?
No. The SF-14 is Class C and must not be promoted or used as an electrically insulating hard hat.
What is the difference between SF-14 and SF-14-04?
SF-14 is a Type I Class C hard hat designed primarily for overhead-impact protection. SF-14-04 is the separately tested Type II Class C model, designed to address both top and lateral impact hazards.
Can an existing SF-14 be converted into an SF-14-04?
No. SF-14-04 is a separately tested product configuration, not a field-upgrade kit. Buyers requiring Type II protection should order the complete SF-14-04 model.
Can we customize the helmet color and logo?
Yes. OEM/ODM options include shell colors, logo printing, carbon-fiber-look patterns, suspension systems, chin straps and packaging.
Will the water-transfer finish affect helmet performance?
The finish should be applied under controlled factory conditions using compatible materials. Do not drill, sand, repaint or apply unapproved chemicals to the shell, as these modifications may affect performance.
